Early 19th Century Regency Carved Giltwood Bullseye Convex Mirror. Mirror features a circular frame with a classical reeded profile in warm gilt with a contrasting black inner slip, accentuating the convex glass. The convex glass magnified and reflected light within an interior. These mirrors were prized for their ability to brighten rooms and offer a panoramic reflection. Their use of gilding and bold forms reflected the neoclassical influences popular at the time.
