Teun Zwets
The ‘Splitted’ furniture collection, a set of one-of-a-kind pieces made from split wood. Inspired by the beauty of splitting wood, each item showcases the natural qualities of the material. This collection shows the charm of wood grain in furniture, ensuring that every chair, table, cabinet and every other item is a unique creation crafted with an axe. All the pieces in the collection are made from Douglas Fir wood, polished with care through extensive sanding and primer paints. The final layer is a tough, and durable glossy lacquer.
Teun Zwets is a Dutch designer known for transforming salvaged materials into colorful, playful, and functional furniture and objects. A graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2020, he favors an intuitive, hands-on approach, creating without a predefined plan and harnessing the unexpected beauty of everyday waste.
