Wrought Iron Mirror Signed Serva — Art Deco, École de Nancy, France Circa 1925
Elegant antique wrought iron mirror, signed by Albert Serva, master blacksmith of the École de Nancy, active between 1920 and 1930. This rare piece, created around 1925, exemplifies the refined aesthetic of French Art Deco.
The semi-arched frame, minimalist and graphic, is forged in an ivy-inspired vegetal motif — a testament to Serva’s exceptional craftsmanship. In 1926, he was awarded the prestigious title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France for a mirror surround. His work continues to grace prestigious sites such as Les Invalides in Paris and the Abbey of Solignac, and has earned recognition from the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
