About the Item
Walnut and burl dresser with removable mirror and matching bed.
Purchased in Philadelphia, in 1970, from an antique dealer who informed the buyers that it was from a mansion in the Dupont Circle area of Washington D.C.. The home was being torn down for construction of an embassy at that time. The buyers used these pieces continuously in several homes from 1970 until 2022, at which time, a move necessitated a different style of furniture and they were acquired by our company.
In 1973, an appraiser attributed the set to the George Henkels “Warerooms” in Philadelphia in the 1800s.
