About the Item

Guido Faleschini for Mariani, ‘Pace Collection’ Queen Tucroma Bed with Nightstands and Stools, Italy, ca. 1975 Natural Cognac Leather-Bodied Bed with Integrated Matching Round Stools. Matching rotating warderobe available but not included in this price. Mattress is not included This rare and exuberant vintage bedroom ensemble by Italian designer Guido Faleschini was created as part of the celebrated 'Pace Collection' for I4 Mariani during the expressive design era of the 1970s. It was also seen in the Lenny Kravitz Architectural Digest magazine shoot. The signed set includes a queen-sized bed flanked by two matching cylindrical stools and is optionally completed with a rotating leather wardrobe. The design is enveloped entirely in new supple cognac saddle leather, adorned with contrasting darker original leather straps featuring polished buckles, evoking equestrian chic. The bed’s robust geometry is softened by rounded corners. The reading lamps, mounted on each nightstand, subtly emphasize the playful yet elegant 1970s experimental character. A new wool-blend textile base in ochre-gold tones complements the leather frame and enhances the overall visual warmth. Condition-wise, the leather upholstery of the bed and the textile platform beneath the mattress have been carefully renewed in high-quality material faithful to the original. The rest of the set—including the belt buckles, lamp fixtures, and stools—remains fully original, showcasing a desirable patina with minor signs of wear consistent with age. The result is a highly comfortable and visually stunning centerpiece for a maximalist or modernist interior. As a vintage signed piece from the golden era of Italian radical design, this Mariani set is not only aesthetically daring but also a collector’s gem that bridges function and sculptural furniture art. It works effortlessly within eclectic interiors, mid-century modern concepts, or bohemian-inspired master suites. Matching rotating warderobe available but not included in this price.

Bamboletto by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia in Cognac Leather 1970s
By Mario Bellini, B&B Italia
Located in Byron Bay, NSW
The "Le Bambole-Bamboletto" daybed a rare edition design by the Italian architect and designer, Mario Bellini. This iconic piece was manufactured by B&B Italia in 1970s. The Bambole series is considered a seminal work of Bellini's, and represents the culmination of his research into stuffed furniture. The daybed features a minimalist design, reduced to an archetypical idea of a cushion. The precise geometry of the stitches and covers define the piece, which was originally stuffed with a material that was the forerunner of memory foam. The metal frame was later removed, improving comfort and allowing the stuffing to support the daybed on its own. C&B Italia was founded in 1973 renamed B&B 1976 and quickly became one of the leading international design companies. Under the leadership of Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, the company cultivated a reputation for supporting up-and-coming talents, such as Mario Bellini and Gaetano Pesce, who went on to become some of the most renowned designers of the 20th century. The Le Bambole daybed...
