About the Item

A very impressive good quality pair of late 19th century French Rococo Style parquetry and marquetry inlaid twin size bedsteads. Feautures intricate ormolu mounts on headboard and footboards. Ormolu brass caps on footboard legs. Half round footboard with 4 legs. This fabulous pair also features tight Steel-wire mattress supports with steel frames in very good antique condition. Haedboard marquetry and inlays in very good condition. Measures 85" in lenght, 41.5" in width, 63" in height at the headboard, 32" in height at the footboard. Distance from floor to bottom of side rails is 4.5" and 9.5" to thr top of the side rails.. Mattress area is 38" x 74".

Additions or alterations made to the original: Side rails have been reinforced with "L" brackets to improve attachment with footboard and headboards and side rail mattress support also reinforced. All Original bolts to attach side rails to footboards and haedboards are in place and functional. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Minor inlay losses on top of the footboard, commensurate with age and normal use.
