Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and Sterling Collet. The name Henredon is a combination of their names. These four men were determined to build furniture of custom exceptional quality, and their original offering was only three chests. Through the years they engaged with well-known designers to create their unique and fine furniture with iconic names such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Ralph Lauren, Dorothy Draper, and Laura Ashley. The company changed ownership several times throughout the years, eventually becoming Heritage Home Group (HHG) in 1986. Then, the original manufacturing operations in North Carolina effectively ceased the brand name around 2013. Following that, HHG, the last parent company under the original model filed bankruptcy in 2018 and the brand name was purchased by Authentic Brands Group (ABG.) While no longer in production, Henredon furnishings are highly sought after superior vintage pieces today. There’s nothing quite as luxurious as an attractive bedroom! It is comprised of gorgeous walnut with stunning wood grain and features wonderful, cut out sculpted slats across the front of headboard and a lower stretcher. It is going to add just the right splash of mid-century modern magnificence to any bedroom in your home where you will be sure to sleep in stylish splendor. Kipp Stewart, a celebrated American designer, born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania did not lead a charmed childhood. Sent to California to live with distant relatives at a young age, you could call him a self-made man. His furniture designing fate was sealed at 15 when hitchhiking to school he passed a storefront shop and studio on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles with pencil industrial drawings in the windows and fell in love with them. Kipp worked hard, turning down a track and field scholarship at USC and instead enrolled at Chouinard Art Institute in the late 1940s. Again, he worked very hard days and nights becoming a renowned artist, architect, and award-winning designer. He currently resides in Carmel, California and is still painting. Alexander Stewart Orton MacDougall was born in the late 1920s in Pasadena and grew up in a Green and Green house which he credits for his fascination and love of design. Judged early with a learning disability which he obviously overcame, Stewart attended Chouinard Art Institute after a short time in the Navy. He then went to work for Victor Gruen and Associates where he met his mentor Rudolf Baumfeld who had studied under Le Courbusier...

1971 MCM Lane Headboard Tower Suite Collection Full/Queen Bed Rosewood Walnut
By Lane Furniture
Located in Topeka, KS
Marvelous vintage Mid-Century Modern headboard Lane Furniture Tower Suite Collection comprised of walnut and rosewood. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been restored or refinished. Please see photos and zoom in for details as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 10-18-1971. Sometimes the best thing to do first thing in the morning is go right back to bed! And honestly, with a bed this beautiful, you may never want to get up!!! This is an INCREDIBLE full or queen sized “Tower Suite Collection” headboard by Lane Furniture!! It bears a lovely contrast of a walnut frame and fabulous decorative rosewood inlays across the front and both sides. This is a classic beauty with a Mid-Century Modern style that you are sure to love for years to come. It is going to be gorgeous in your bedroom! All you need is a full or queen-sized mattress and a Hollywood frame OR if you don’t mind the opinion of my mom, who is an EXCEPTIONAL retired interior designer… She would have a hanging mechanism or wall cleat made so that you can attach it to the wall and lift it a little higher, use a platform rather than a Hollywood frame, and toss out the box springs as mattresses today are much taller than they used to be. Annnnnd, Voila! Maximum exposure of the headboard! If that sounds like something you would be interested in, we would be happy to provide a wall cleat upon purchase of the headboard. This is a gorgeous example of high-quality craftsmanship constructed with exquisite woods and attention to detail quintessential of Lane Furniture. You simply can’t go wrong! Lane was founded in 1912 by Edward Hudson Lane at the age of 21, upon his father’s suggestion after he, John Edward Lane, bought a small packing-box plant in Altavista, Virginia. Edward procured a loan and converted the factory to make cedar chests and named it The Standard Red Cedar Chest Co. Sales were good and the company expanded. But during WWI, with the banning of rail freight deemed non-essential, they began making pine ammunition boxes. This is notable as it led to an assembly line which was revolutionary and became the first moving conveyor assembly system in the furniture industry. After the war, with sales still increasing, Ed Lane decided he could risk giving the company his name and changed it to The Lane Co...

We will include metal siderails upon purchase. This is a classic beauty with an Art Moderne style that you are sure to love for years to come. It is designed in a style after Russel Wright for Conant Ball or Bissman. My mother (who is a retired interior designer and has been identifying vintage pieces since before I was born… and I am vintage myself!!) believes the actual style is a copy after Russel Wright but the construction leads her to believe it’s Bissman. It is not marked, but no matter, it is INCREDIBLE!! The design world calls these transition pieces… of the era when pieces transitioned between the Art Deco period and the Mid-Century Modern period, during the early portion of the 20th century. Ahhhhh, the good ‘ol days!! LOVE IT!!! The maple bears a beautiful natural shade and it features clean lines, a timeless presence, and simple design sure to blend in beautifully with any décor. We think it would be fabulous utilized in a children’s bedroom but it would also be wonderful in a college dorm, guest room, or an industrial loft apartment! Spectacular in its simplicity, this is exactly the twin bed set...

So many options…We say that because the center, larger unit can be used as a headboard for a full or queen-sized bed. The four mirrors are removeable so if you prefer you could take them off and expose a blank wall or hang your favorite piece of artwork. SO NICE!! BUT…maybe it’s a little much for the space you have, and you want to break it up a bit. NO PROBLEM! The two side pier cabinets are modular and can stand individually in separate rooms or could set side by side in one room. Maybe you want to use the two pier cabinets in a second bedroom and put a beautiful brass bed between them and use the center unit in a different bedroom. The whole unit is comprised of a gorgeous sultry dark wood and the cabinets have beautiful brass escutcheons, teardrop pulls, and hardware. There are truly so many interchangeable possibilities with this wonderful campaign style wall unit and it is made with impeccable quality by an iconic manufacturer. You just can’t go wrong! During this time, the original company went through several owners; despite this, the company still experienced financial success even through economic hardship of the 1930s. Vintage pieces from the Thomasville Furniture company run the gamut from chairs to dining room furniture and many different types of furniture in between. The earliest pieces from the company when it was still known as the Thomasville Chair Company are considered the most rare and valuable. Antique Victorian Walnut and Burl Walnut Tall Lincoln Style Full Size Bed
Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous antique Victorian tall Lincoln style full size bed in solid walnut and walnut burl with footboard and side rails. It is in wonderful original vintage condition. That does not mean it is without beautiful age patina of marks and distressing from over 100 years of use. The very top of the carved crown on the headboard had cracked and broken away and been lost over the years. But one of our staff artisans has hand carved a replacement. It is spectacular. There is also some new bracing to the back of the headboard to help with stability. Please see photos, circa mid-late 19th century. When I was a teenager this high Victorian style of bed is what my mom (a very talented interior designer) put in my bedroom (previously I had a white and pink frilly canopy bed my dad made me) and it remained in her home long after I left. In my room it was paired with the matching Victorian dresser and washstand as nightstand. Beautiful. Fast forward a few years and I installed that very same high Victorian walnut bed in my 8-year-old only granddaughter’s bedroom. But this time I paired it with Industrial stainless-steel vintage hospital nightstands...
