Scott James Furniture Design specializes in hand-made furniture covering a range of styles and fabrication techniques. We are most known for our four poster beds using traditional mortise and tenon joinery available in a range of styles from Contemporary to Traditional. We also work in case and accent pieces, side tables and dining tables, utilizing complex joinery, veneers and even caning and intricate carving. We work out of our Tiverton Rhode Island workshop with a group of expert craftsman. We primarily work in domestic hardwoods such as walnut and oak but also specialist in mahogany and other more unique species. We primarily work with Architects and Interior Designers and are open to custom fabrication and projects. Founded in 1984, we have a long history of making modern American heirlooms, with an attention to detail, craft and quality.
