A Fine French 19th Century Empire Style Mahogany and Gilt-Bronze Mounted "Lit en Bateau" Officer's Campaign Bed. The "Boat Shaped" frame, surmounted with columns with Empire style gilt-bronze mounts and "ball finials." The three ormolu plaques on the front apron railing bed represent two figures from Greek mythology: Pheme, who announces Glory on her trumpet and Apollo, racing to victory in his chariot. These decorative ormolu elements are typical in French Empire style furniture, adding both aesthetic appeal and a touch of classical elegance. Includes the reproduction mattress and box spring with Lyonnaise silk coverlet and a bolster pillow. A Very Fine French or Russian 19th Century Empire Style Mahogany, Ormolu Mounted and Parcel-Gildwood Carved Crib Bedding. The egg-shaped oblong rocking cradle supported at each end by columnar standards.The cradle base conforms to the rocking cradle and is adorned with laurel wreath gild bronze corner crests, all supported on cabriole legs with finely cast gild bronze acanthus leaf mounts. Turned gilded bedding and drapery support having a cast gilt bronze terminal of an eagle holding a ring in its beak. It also includes mattresses, bedding, Irish hand embroidered linens and matching draperies. One pair of Irish linen draperies measures 25" X 124". One pair measures 20" (10" with curtain rod hooks) x 124". Some ormolu bear the letters "P.R."; "N.H"; ":E.J" and other mounts bear what appear to be a name in cyrillic. Circa: 1860-1870. Large French neoclassical style gilt bronze mounted bed French, late 19th century Measures: Height 143cm, width 147cm, depth 225cm This impressive bed is crafted in the neoclassical style from wood, gilt bronze, and red velvet. The bed features a large, shaped headboard, which is centred with a panel of red floral velvet, with the wooden structure of the headboard mounted with a host of gilt bronze mounts including rosettes and pomegranate finials. The footboard of the bed is similarly wrought and adorned, with the columnar sides set with gilt bronze floral garlands and the wooden surfaces veneered in a manner that reveals the grain of the wood.
