About the Item

Ron Arad is a British-Israeli designer known for transforming industrial materials into striking, sculptural furniture and architecture. His experimental approach was the subject of a major retrospective at MoMA in 2008. Characterised by his distortions of steel and aluminium into sinusoidal, elliptical, and oval forms, the Round Rail bed frame is typical of Arad’s early style. Two enamelled tubular steel semi-circles flank the frame. The bed includes wire-mesh panels, Kee Klamp fittings, and six horizontal strut supports.
