About the Item
Cabanas date back to Ancient Rome in 2,500 B.C., although the original word “cabaña” comes from Mexico. Originally, cabanas were designed as shaded structures to provide relief from the scorching sun. Over time, they evolved into private havens, offering an exclusive escape from bustling crowds.
When Yaniv Chen designed the Cabana Headboard for a personal project, he wanted to bring this sense of allure and plushness into a bedroom setting. Handcrafted by skilled artisans in the United Kingdom, the headboard is upholstered in Dedar - A Tiger In The Orangerie - a vividly coloured jacquard velvet interprets the tiger’s skin in an idealized version: with the softening of its stripes, the tiger discards its fierceness and becomes receptive to cuddles. The vertical stripe recalling the animal’s back confers a rhythmic cadence. With a soft and dense feel, this fabric is suitable for upholstery.
