A French Empire style marble-top mahogany bedside cabinet (nightstand - end table) with elegant beautifully aged warm rustic patina. circa 1870
Hand-crafted in France in the second half of the 19th century, Napoleon III Period (1852-1870), exceptionally executed in timeless classic Empire Revival styling, retaining the original polished black marble top with dramatic white veining, over solid mahogany case fitted with a single frieze drawer with quality dovetail joinery and highly figured mahogany drawer front, over cabinet door, flanked by classical gilt brass capital adorned full-turned columns, rounded front feet, rising on casters.
