Crafted in France circa 1880, this elegant antique bedside cabinet reflects the restrained sophistication of the Louis Philippe period, emphasizing fine materials, balanced proportions, and functional design. The cabinet is constructed of solid walnut and features richly figured burl walnut panels on the door, offering striking natural movement and depth against the warm, mellow patina developed over time.
The rectangular top is fitted with its original dark veined marble, likely Belgian black marble, finished with a softly molded edge that complements the understated architectural lines of the case. Below the marble surface sits a discreet single drawer fitted with a small brass knob, while the paneled door opens to reveal interior shelving, ideal for bedside or lamp-table storage. The door retains its faceted crystal pull, adding a subtle decorative note without detracting from the cabinet’s classical restraint.
Raised on small block feet and finished on all sides, this antique cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with light wear consistent with its 19th-century origin.
