About the Item

Crafted in France circa 1890, this refined walnut nightstand is a handsome example of the Louis Philippe period. The compact cabinet stands on shaped bracket feet over a molded plinth base and features a single drawer above a paneled door fitted with its original turned wooden knob. Inside, a fixed shelf provides convenient storage. The top is dressed with its original variegated black and white marble, adding both contrast and elegance to the warm fruitwood tones. The door panel displays striking bookmatched burl walnut veneers, showcasing beautiful natural grain symmetry. The bedside table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and boasts a rich, well-patinated finish.
