An antique Japanese 'Kyodai' tansu (vanity chest) with an elegant tall arched mirror and eight drawers of varied size to accommodate a diverse array of personal effects. The pronounced grain of the wood is that of a beautiful Zelkova wood burl, a highlight of the overall aesthetic appeal of this attractive piece of furniture. Original bronze fittings. Meiji Period, circa 1890-1900. Measuring 52 in. (132.08 cm.) high by 24 in. (60.96 cm.) wide by 10.75 in. (27.30 cm.) deep.
