The North Fork Nightstand is an exploration of balance, restraint, and refined contrast. Its form is
grounded and composed, designed to bring a sense of quiet structure to the bedside while allowing
material and proportion to take precedence.
A defining feature of the piece is its use of color blocking. A contrasting lighter wood finish is inset into
the top surface, the front face of the top, and the first drawer, creating a layered rectangular frame
within the larger form. This precise inset introduces depth and visual rhythm, lending the nightstand a
quietly sophisticated presence without ornamentation.
The contrast is deliberate and architectural rather than decorative—an interplay of tone and plane
that emphasizes clarity of construction. Understated yet distinctive, the North Fork Nightstand
