About the Item

Fine pair of Italian neoclassical night stands or side tables, art deco styling, exude luxurious style from every angle! The polished nightstands with gorgeous book-matched flame mahogany door fronts creating exquisite patterns that opens to a storage area. The doors, one mounted for right hand opening and the other for left-hand opening. Each flanked by half fluted column form sides richly adorned with original gilt brass capitals and column holders. Both cavinets sitting on tapering legs capped with brass sabots. Professionally refinished. A versatile set will make a great look in any style bedroom, as a complementary design or as a contrast piece in a modern interior. The Art Deco style of the 1920s and 1930s was the first truly modern style of the 20th century. It was a reaction against the organic motifs of the Art Nouveau style and leads into the direction of Modernism and machine aesthetic. Emphasizing a simple shape, clean lines and fine craftsmanship are typical for this decorative style.
