About the Item
An elegant mid-century Italian Art Nouveau style oval shaped side cabinet / nightstand attributed to Ebanisteria di Bassano.
Crafted in Northern Italy in the mid-20th century, warm mixed woods including the flanks display highly figured grain patterns, executed in elegantly sophisticated Louis XV taste, tall oval columnar form finished on all sides, having curves on each side lending to the gracefully flowing lines. Warm rich medium tone oval wooden top with molded edge, over distinctive open niche vitrine style shelf with open-air window cutouts on three sides outlined by undulating wooden accents, atop four small drawers, each with curved drawer-front embellished with carved foliate and shell motif, the carving continuing on the scalloped skirt, rising on gently curved cabriole legs.
