This refined pair of Bauhaus nightstands was produced in Czechoslovakia around 1930 and is attributed to Hynek Gottwald, one of the most accomplished manufacturers of tubular steel furniture of the interwar period. The cubic wooden bodies are veneered in highly decorative walnut burl, carefully mirrored to emphasize the depth, movement, and natural richness of the grain.
