About the Item
Stunning bronze on marble miniature replica of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, probably the most famous building in all Russia, built by Czar Ivan the Terrible in the 16th century. This souvenir building was made in the former Soviet Union in 1970, and is signed by the artist with the date of 1970. It is cast in solid bronze and is mounted to a marble base.
Every tower, turret and onion dome is meticulously detailed, with tiny metal crosses on top of their domes! The front of the base has Russian writing, probably identifying the building and its city, Moscow. This St. Basil's is in excellent condition, with I believe, 2 tiny missing crosses on a couple buildings.
