About the Item
Oak little walnut armoire chef d'oeuvre of a cabinetmaker.
In its original sense, a masterpiece is a piece that marks the completion of an artisan's training, who, through this production, will move from the status of journeyman to that of master, a few years after moving from the position of apprentice to that of journeyman.
This tradition has existed in France since the Middle Ages, and is still practiced by the Compagnons du Devoir, in all building and construction trades.
Antique condition, traces of age. The keys work but are not original. One of the doors is veiled (please see photo).
