Antique, Collectible, Curiosity Bronze Applications from the 19th Century

About the Item

A very rare bronze application, which was made for an archway from the 19th century. This beautiful mix of bronze applications was made for an archway in a castle in the second half of the 19th century and is made out of high quality raised and molded bronze casts. The bronze applications show different war trophies and also warrior's heads. The Applications have different symbols in them (like the head of Medusa). The bronze applications belonged to a German aristocratic manor house. The left and the right sides show symmetric applications. The fluted pilaster columns with ornate composite capitals show beautifully carved decorations. They are composed of ionic strolls, and the two soldiers on the columns wear beautifully carved helmets, which are decorated with feathers. The middle part consists of war symbols like cannons, spears, axes, war helmets, armour and two soldier heads glancing at each other. They are surrounded by 78 round symbolic knobs, which ha e eight different symbols on them. An elaborately carved bronze doorway from the late 19th century, which is a great interior and exterior piece and would look marvellous above a fireplace, in the doorway or even in the garden. It can also be installed in the living room on the wall or between rooms as a walk through. It would also make an impression on a man cave (women cave), a corporate location, a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club or even a luxury clothing shop. The bronze applications make up a massive construction, which established a beautiful green patina over the last century. It is an eve catching conversational piece.
