Late Medieval Iron Spaulder (Shoulder Defence) with Brass Edge
Rotating Button, c. 1480–1520
Authentic-looking late medieval iron spaulder / shoulder defence from a harness, with brass rolled edge and an original-style rotating brass button fastener on the side (quick-release type).
Hand-forged construction with period-correct wear and surface patina.
Type: Spaulder / shoulder armour plate (single piece)
Material: Hand-forged iron with brass edging and brass rivets
Fastening: Side-mounted rotating brass button
Size: approx. 30.5 cm × 28 cm
Estimated period: c. 1480–1520 (late Gothic / early Renaissance)
Probable origin: South German / Swiss tradition (attributed)
Condition: As found; surface oxidation/patina and age-related wear. No aggressive modern polishing. Please review photos carefully.
