A Northern European Late 16th Century Style Suit of Field Armor, 20th Century
Provenance: Private Australian Collection
Description:
The helmet with crested comb over pierced visor and ventail to graduated colletin with applied rope moulding, the left pauldron with conforming crested shoulder and moulding, to palmette couter over imbricated vambrace, the gauntlet with further applied rope moudling, the smooth breastplate with central peak to imbricated fault and tasset, edged with further rope moulding, over smooth cuisse, poleyn and greave to imbricated round toe sabot, the whole supported on black square base.
