For thirty years, the Concorde connected the world at unprecedented, and still unmatched, pace. Flying beyond the speed of sound, it could bring passengers from London to New York in a mere three hours, while offering acceptable comfort and a top class food and wine selection. A total of twelve operational Concordes were built, six operated by Air France, six by British Airways; its success and popularity were wide, but just like any great dream, it was destined to end. Its astronomical operational costs eventually determined its fate, and the Concorde ceased regular operations on October 24, 2003: times had changed, and people were no longer willing to pay an objectively exhorbitant ticket just to save three hours of flight.
The Concorde, however, has remained an icon of a bygone era of airiness, wealth and trust in progress and engineering, with many nostalgics hoping for an unlike comeback. And if you're among them, this miniature sculpture of the legendary plane is absolutely fit for you. Rendered in polished stainless steel, with a display base crafted to match, this little Concorde is granted to elevate your desk, sideboard or bookcase with its streamlined design and shiny finish.
