About the Item

A beautifully bound full calf fifteen volume set of the works of English writer, essayist, and literary critic Thomas De Quincey. Uniformly bound in full calf signed bindings by M. Ogle Co. Volume VII: Studies on Secret Records, 1857. Volume VIII: Essays Sceptical and Anti-Sceptical, 1858. Volume IX: Leaders in Literature, 1858. Volume X: Classic Records Reviewed or Deciphered, 1859. Volume XI: Critical Suggestions on Style and Rhetoric, 1859. Volume XII: Speculations, Literary and Philosophic, 1859. Volume XIII: Speculations, Literary and Philosophic, 1859. Volume XIV: Letters to a Young Man, 1860, with a frontispiece. Volume XV: The Works of Thomas De Quincey including all his Contributions to Periodical Literature, Second Edition, A&C Black, 1863, volume XV 'Biographies of Shakespeare, Pope, Goethe, and Schiller'.
