About the Item

First edition of Larry Clark’s iconic second book of photographs (following 1971’s Tulsa) documenting and immortalizing a debauched adolescent subculture. Self-published in 1983. Controversial, explicit, and dark, it remains powerful and disturbing. Tall 8vo (11.5” x 9”), pictorial gray wrappers, unpaginated, fully illustrated with black and white photographic images taken between 1958 and 1980. A 26-page autobiographical sketch at the end. Laid in is an announcement card for a 2005 exhibition of Clark’s photos at New York City’s Clamp Art. Signed in ink bottom right on the title page.
