Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1963, 1st Ed in original slipcase. Rare book in Excellent condition. 250 works discussed and illustrated in a blue leather bound book. "Decorative arts, paintings, and prints of the Colonial and Federal Periods, from private collections." 114 pp. profusely illustrated in b&w. Includes a short introduction by James Biddle. Lists 40 chairs, 3 sofas, chests of drawers, tables, highboys, card-tables, candle stands, silver, glass, porcelain, paintings, etc. Importantly gives lenders names of most items. Great resource for American collector or dealer.
