About the Item
This antique standing photo album is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from France and date to approximately 1900 and done in the period Art Nouveau style. The album is composed of thick cardboard stock with printed floral decoration around the edges of altnernating photo inserts, and the cover is decoration with an applied brass panel of stylized flowers. The album is set in a brass patinated pierced metal frame with an elaborate top and feet. The clasp on the top holds the book closed and the bracket on the back can be adjusted to lay the book flat if desired.
