First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 96 pp. A great resource book on collecting antique silver. The first few chapters deal with English and American silver of the 18th century which are highly prized for their craftmanship. The majority of the book is devoted to the silver of the 19th century. It illustrates various silver styles along with silversmiths in order to evaluate the merits of good design and craftsmanship.
