About the Item
This is an extremely rare bound set of the 12 ART, GOUT, BEAUTE monthly fashion magazines from 1924. It was noted or its superb art deco pochoir illustrations, some of which were double pages. In each magazine there are several other illustrations some of which were Crepe de Chine Imprime designs, plus advertisements and some of these have been tipped in. Most of the great couture houses of that era are included - Jeanne Lanvin, Jean Patou, Worth, Molyneux and Paul Poiret, to name but a few. Beautiful art deco end papers with gold gouache highlights. This really is a must have for fashionista's library. The majority of text is in French but there is a small amount in English and at the beginning it says - "Publishing monthly the choicest models of the big dressmakers in the exact shade of their creation, as well as the textile fabrics in vogue".
