First edition of this pleasant work of scientific popularization by Camille Flammarion which aims to be a simplified continuation of François Arago's 'Astronomie Populaire'. Period half leather binding, smooth spine adorned with title and author in gilded letters. Illustrated in and out of the text with 360 figures in the text, 7/8 chromolithography plates and the sky map (missing the fourth plate).
