Cloth-bound in a salmon-coloured cover, profusely illustrated with coloured and black-and-white reproductions of Cecily Brown’s work from the early ‘90s to the ‘2000s, when Brown had a meteoric rise to fame.
Cecily Brown has a visual repertoire indebted as much to the classical themes of the old masters as to porn magazines and Hollywood films. Brown’s paintings challenge traditional interpretations and compel us to reconsider the act of painting from a decidedly feminine viewpoint. This monograph is a brilliant survey of her works.
