this is a wonderful book full of the most interesting photos from one of the most celebrated royals of the 20th century. She married the 2nd son of the King of England, King George V and was never intended - or even wanted the limelight or duties of being Queen of the Realm. History and her place in it changed dramatically with the abdication of Edward VIII to marry Wallis Simpson. The book covers the life of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, the birth of her daughters, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret, their marriages and families and the birth of Prince William. It's a really enjoyable read, filled with history and photographs. She rose to the occasion and has become one of the most beloved royals of all time. Read, research, discover - it's a great book and it will certainly be a treasure to its new owner. This is a beautiful large library or hardcover coffee table book.
