Catalogue accompanying a Los Angeles County Museum of Art exhibition of landscape painting by the Fauves, a group of early-modern French painters that included Henri Matisse and Georges Braque. The reproductions in this catalogue are accompanied by in-depth historical essays by curator Judi Freeman and other art historians contextualizing and analyzing the Fauves's work. The exhibition was later displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and at the Royal Academy in London.
