Large format, lavishly produced monograph on the famed Italian design firm Fontana Arte, founded in 1932 by Lucio Fontana and Gio Ponti. Showcases lighting, furniture, and accessories by modernist masters Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, and Max Ingrand in materials featuring glass (Lucio Fontana owned a prominent glass manufacturing company) but including woods, leather, and metals. Published in 2012 by Umberto Allemandi C., with text in English by Franco Deboni and a preface by Bernd Goeckler. 4to (9.75” x 13.5”), 336 pages, hardcover with pictorial dust jacket, profusely illustrated in both color and black-and-white. Illustrations include newly staged photographs, period tableaux, renderings, and blueprints.
