France Under Louis XIV [Le Grand Siecle], Its Arts, Its Ideas by Mrs. Cashel Huey. Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1897. First Edition hardcover. 470 pp. With 34 copper engravings and numerous other b&w plates. The book attempts to unravel the secret of the 17th c by examining its art. It discusses in detail the reign of Louis XIV and devotes one chapter to French art and one chapter to European art during the century. With 22 frameable copper engravings, each on heavy paper, printed on 1 side and protected by a tissue guard. NPT Books a division of N.P.
