The Gods delight, the Human figure in Classical bronze. Cleveland: The Cleveland Museum of Art and Indiana University Press, 1988. First edition paper back. 373 pp. An extensive catalogue of classical bronze figures from an exhibition at the Cleveland Art Museum, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1989. According to mythology, bronze was invented by the gods on the island of Cyprus. This invention also occurred in Egypt and in China. It was used in the Mediterranean classical world for tools, vessels, jewelry, arms and armor, coins and sculpture. NPT Books, a division of N.P.
