This book reveals many aspects of the life and works of Alexander Calder - some of which have not been seen previously as they are in private collections around the world including those of many of his artist friends, such as Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Luis Bunuel and Georgia O'Keefe. Calder used and transformed many ordinary day to day items and materials into the most amazing ornaments, jewels, ornaments and household objects (see the photographs of toilet roll holders for example) and toys, in particular the mobiles that were created for his children and grand children. 400 pages with 680 illustrations, including 200 in brilliant colour. This book is a must have for collectors and dealer of one of the 20th centuries most iconic artists.
