About the Item
It is rare to find a set of twenty of these volumes, which were published between 1920 and 1930. Each volume contains a title page and varying amounts of text in French - up to 24 pages and has a hard covered marbled board folio cover (A3 in size) with ribbon ties, in total there are approximately 900 heliogravure plates in the set.
The volumes depict buildings in the various different Arrondissements of Paris. Six volumes (3,4,7,12,13 &16) cover the area of Saint-Germain, 2 volumes (6
11) cover Saint-Honore, volumes 1,2 and 20 cover Le Temple and Le Marais. The other volumes cover Le Ministrere de la Marine, L'Hotel Lambert, Place Vendome, Le Quartier Saint Paul, La Nouvelle France, Le Quartier Saint Avoye, Le Quartier du Palais Royal, Les Porcherons ou Le Faubourg Montmartre and Le Quartier Saint-Antoine.
