The Metropolitan Museum of Art, three centuries of French Domestic Silver by Faith Dennis Volumes I
II. New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1960. 1st Ed hardcovers with slipcase. 567 pp. A beautiful two volume set on French domestic silver, with information on their makers and their marks. The first volume includes French silver categorized by individual makers with Paris craftsman listed first then Provincial goldsmiths. The second volume includes marks and a chronological table of both Parisian and Provincial silver. The inside cover of both volumes includes a map illustrating the locations of three centuries of French mints.
