Paintings by 19th century and Contemporary American Artists, from the Collection of The Late Samuel T. Shaw, NY: Parke-Bernet Galleries, Nov. 21, 1945. Softcover, 89 pp. 15 b&w plates. Shaw was a most prominent member of the Salmagundi Club, a student of Charles C. Curran, the president of the Art Students League (1903-1904), and a general patron of the artists. His catalogue includes 10 works by C.C. Curran, 7 by Franklin DeHaven, 5 by Bruce Crane, in addition to 103 other works by appx 70 artists, most of whom he knew in person. An important catalog of American artists. NPT Books a division of N.P. Trent Antiques has a large collection of used and out of print books on art, architecture, decoration and antiques with a focus on 1st editions, signed and limited editions.
