The scarce complete set of four auction catalogues for the important sale of the collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon [Bunny Mellon] at Sotheby's, New York. The sale fetched over 200 million dollars. The Masterworks session included works by Rothko, Diebenkorn, de Stael, Klee, Manet, O'Keefe, Picasso, Boudin, Bosschaert the Elder and Seurat. The Jewels
Objects of Vertu catalogue includes pieces by Verdura, Schlumberger, Givenchy, Cartier and Van Cleef
Arpels. The two Interior catalogues cover furniture, fine art, porcelain, decorative art, silver and textiles from the Mellons' homes in America and abroad. The catalogues begin with words and images documenting the life and homes of the Mellons.
