Folio, 15 7/8 x 11 inches (402 x 280 mm); pp. 4 + 30 plates, printed on handmade wove paper with "EGA" watermark on each sheet. Half-bound in vellum with brown marbled boards, with some rubbing and small surface losses to the boards, vellum somewhat soiled, gilt decorations on spine, edges trimmed. Armorial bookplate of Thomas Gainford pasted inside front cover.
This elegant book presents reproductions from a sketchbook attributed to Raphael and acquired by the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, including facsimile of the autograph writing of the artist as found on the verso of one of the drawings.
Some of these prints are to be found in the Royal Collection Trust (RCIN 853770, RCIN 850259.b etc.) and the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
