About the Item
"Sans Pudeur" tells of the erotic encounters of a young couple in the countryside with many double-entendres and saucy details. The author is Renée Dunan but the book was published under her 'nom de plume' Renée Camera and illustrated by Valti.

8vo. 7 3/4 x 5 1/2 in. (192 x 140 mm), pp. 123, half-title, and title page. Cover illustration and in-text, as well as 12 hors-texte illustrations, all by Valti, some signed in the plate. Handsomely rebound in navy morocco, with tan label and gilt title on spine; marbled endpapers; pictorial front cover bound in. Pages toned, binding square and tight. Previous owner's name in ink on free flyleaf.
Renée Dunan (1892–1936) was a French writer, critic, poet, anarchist and feminist. Not much is known about her life as she did not leave a memoir and her correspondence is scattered. She had much contact with the Dadaist movement and published over 50 books on a variety of topics, ranging from historical to detective, from science fiction to eroticism. Many of her works were published under a pseudonym, as this "Sans Pudeur" which tells of the erotic encounters of a young couple in the countryside with many double-entendres and saucy details. The book was published by Editions Lutèce the same year.
