This book provides an introduction to the art of cabinetmaking and the works of Texas cabinetmakers and contains photographs of 222 pieces of furniture, accompanied by detailed descriptions that include the maker, date, materials, measurements, history, owner, and analysis. Also, Illustrations and descriptions of cabinet makers' tools, machinery, and the types of woods used, maps showing the forests and resources of Texas, the locations of the cabinet shops from 1850-1880 and with an annotated list of cabinetmakers with all the available information of over 850 craftsmen working in Texas during that period.
