Part of a limited edition of 2,500 hand-numbered copies, issue 18 of the highly collectible Visionaire magazine was the first of their issues to be focused fully on fashion throughout. Held in a specially-made brown leather case from Louis Vuitton, with their desirable and immediately recognisable monogram design, Visionaire was able to assemble a staggering assortment of forty-four of the most innovative and influential artists, photographers and image-makers to give their personal interpretation on selections from forty-five equally important fashion designers. Highlights include Nan Goldin’s collaboration with Helmut Lang, Jurgen Teller shooting Hussein Chalayan, Terry Richardson’s take on John Bartlett, and Craig McDean’s nine-page life-size foldout featuring Comme des Garcons.
Loose plates in colour and black and white held in a Louis Vuitton leather case as issued. Copiously illustrated in colour and black and white, English language text throughout.

This book examines the life and career of Roger Vivier who was known as “the Fabergé of Footwear” He designed extravagant, richly decorated shoes that he described as sculptures. He is credited with the design of the first platform shoe in 1937 and the first stiletto heel in 1954. Ava Gardner, Gloria Guinness and The Beatles were all Vivier customers, and he designed shoes for Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953.Vivier also designed shoes for house Christian Dior from 1953 to 1963. In addition to the stiletto heel, he also experimented with other shapes, including the comma.
