About the Item

Two catalogs presenting Ward Bennett’s product designs for Brickel Associates, published circa 1977. Bennett (1917-2003) was an influential and acclaimed artist, sculptor, interior designer, and designer of furniture, flatware, jewelry, textiles, accessories, and dresses. His monochromatic signature style, deemed “sensual minimalism” blended industrial design and aesthetics. 4to (11.75 x 11.75) printed plastic ring binders containing loose pages with b/w photos and curatorial information separated by plastic dividers. With sections for seating, tables, desks, credenzas, accessories, and textiles. Includes iconic designs such as the Scissor chairs and the I-Beam tables, along with the complete range of office and residential offerings. There is some overlapping in the contents of the two binders, but one binder has price guides while the other has 9 pages of textile and leather samples. Taken together, they provide a fairly comprehensive snapshot of the Bennett/Brickel line in the late 1970’s including b/w photos and curatorial information.
