About the Item

Dress a vanity, dressing table, or étagère with this elegant antique French accessory set, featuring a 19th-century horn mosaic box paired with an embroidered ribbon pearl necklace. The rectangular box is crafted in France circa 1880 from hand-cut horn panels arranged in a geometric pattern, showcasing natural variations in caramel, ivory, and deep espresso tones. Smoothly polished throughout, the box opens to a matte black interior suitable for storing jewelry, keepsakes, or desk items, and rests on protective pads to preserve delicate surfaces. The necklace, likely created later but inspired by 19th-century French fashion ribbons, features large lustrous faux pearls attached to a soft black textile band richly embroidered with floral and avian motifs. A mother-of-pearl style ring allows the ribbon to adjust or tie, giving the piece a graceful and decorative presence whether worn or displayed. Both items are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and come with their original Grange Hall drawstring pouch, making this a charming addition to a bedroom, dressing room, or boutique display.
