This vintage tremolite jade necklace features a hand-carved openwork jade bead enclosed in its jade cage carving suspended from an intricate knotted silk cord with a traditional Chinese knot and tassel. Symbolizing harmony and protection, the jade exudes a soft translucence and timeless beauty. These neclcases were popular with the bohemian and hippie crowds in the 1960s and 1970s.
